Nick, can you link this question to the answer? Let's take care of our users first, and help improve faqly second.

Actually this is why similar questions are shown while the user types. If one or more are found they will show up. If this needs to be made more obstructive I guess we will have to make it so.

This question has been asked already. The bar at the top is meant for asking a question. It will also show you questions similar to the one you are asking. If you see one that is similar, please do not ask again, but view the existing question. If it has not been answered, asking again will not make the answer come faster. You can also make a note in the other question if you feel the question should be answered faster.

I have done as Ash suggested, installing the Gnome Control Center. After doing that my Administrator option and everything in it vanished.
Does anyone know what is up with that ? I have Gos v2 and Enlightenment 1.7

go to add remove in your menu once in the add remove area search for time and date program, download that, it makes it very easy to then set your time and date.

are you suppose to "click on a dot" on the world map? New York was the only western state on the drop down list??? Am I missing something here??? Asking question again...for us computer illiterates...how do you adjust the time to reflect the time zone you live in??? Is installing the synaptic package manager the only way to make this adjustment?? Ree

Actually you should not need to, as gOS uses "Network Time Servets" to set the internal clock to the time at the time zone you have chosen during the installation of gOS.

I can't figure out how to change the date or time.

Reading all the answers seems like others are having trouble too.

I would post an answer if/when I can figure it out.

Do you know how to install stuff using the "Synaptic package Manager"?

If so, install: gnome-control-center

Then open your Left-click Menu (aka Main Menu) and go to: Applications > Administration, and look in the list for 'Time and Date'

To Nick & Tony:
Where is the actual answer to this question? You guys talk about how the FAQ is set up, and how the answer bar works, but no one actually answered the question.

How do you set the time in E17? If this OS is supposed to be marketed to the "walmart masses", setting the clock should be easy easy easy. They should not have to go to the command line to change the system time.

Nick (& Dave), perhaps there should be a built-in check into faqly that does this for the user. So if someone asks a question, faqly does a check to see if the question or something similar has been asked, and the user can check to see if the question has been asked. Then the user can decide to ask the question after seeing a list - you can't expect people to know exactly how this faqly system works having never used it, and it makes sense that people will ask questions that have already been answered (a q&a system is never perfect in helping people find information, and humans aren't perfect either).
